Mo2vation:
Cat Dive Park Monday with wifie. Slowly getting her back in the groove. Was there last weekend - very mellow. Hopefully it will go well again this weekend so we can start hitting the boats together this summer.

I think Catalina (or any of the other islands) is going to be the only reasonable diving this weekend. I was at Laguna this afternoon and viz was 4-6'.

Did Anacapa yesterday on the Spectre. Temp was about 60-65. Viz was as much as 40ft. Lots of sea-lions out there.

Got a photo of this guy as he was dive-bombing me:

Dove the deep reef at Heisler Park / Picnic Beach Saturday AM. Water was cooler than expected, 59 degrees. Viz ranged from maybe 10 at best down to 3 or 4 feet. Did see a 3-4' swell shark in a hole.

I saw my first Giant Black Sea Bass today at Italian Gardens!! Finally! That BSB has eluded me too many times.

Sea Fan Grotto had awesome viz and loads of fish. Bat rays were abundant.

Very cool day! Oh... that reminds me... Striking thermocline at 35'. 52 degrees or so below 35'.

I thought you had said that you had a picture of the Bass....we wanna see!

Did anyone get into the water on the mainland?

Sat. Pt Dume was blown out by 10am . No waves to speak of either. Bummer for divers as well as surfers. Looked bad for the rest of the coast from what I could see. Damn onshore breeze. Tomorrow looks good as far as swell models. Not sure about the onshore though? Watch the news. Wish I could get out but Sat. was it for me.

Sea ya! Jeff

I was out at Catalina today and noticed that as well. Brrrr....

Glad the Drysuit is on order so I don't have to deal with that anymore.

If anyone finds my camera at Twin Rocks will get a nice reward, a free 1 day trip on the Sundiver. Should be right around N33 25.036 W118 23.624' in about 80 feet of water.

Dove Shaw's for a DIR-F skills practice dive this morning. Nasty red tide and 6-8' vis. Surgy and 3-4' surf. Lots of fish and a little sheep crab in the sand. One day I will get the skills nailed, but after doing them I always feel like I should take up golf :11: One day I will get these nailed, until then I'll just look stupid in the water! :06:
