Did anyone get into the water on the mainland?
Otter:

Greg, Andy & I did the deep reef at Picnic Beach in Laguna. No viz, 59 degrees and I'm starting to miss Guam.

This may or may not work. I am learning Photoshop Elements and I am struggling. Bear with me folks!

I'm impressed with your photographic efforts there. The first time I saw one, I didn't have the camera on, then by the time I got ready, I was only a faint image in the distance. Amazing and impressive creatures, aren't they?

As for diving this weekend, well, I'm packing for Hawaii. After Florida, it looks like I'm headed towards becoming a WWW...not!

How was the viz?

made it to Catalina today. 53 below 30 feet... brrrr, 60s up top.

Parson's Landing, Black Rock and Eagles Nest. Saw the eagle come back with some food for the babies, could see the baby's wings beating in the nest, and you could HEAR them, pretty cool

vis was in the 25 foot range. Weather was awesome

And the Lakers won

Thanks! I have made it my policy to turn on the camera at the surface (or if it is choppy, before getting into the water) so I am ready anytime. Good thing in this case because we saw the big guy while descending. And he was gone, like a bass outa he**!

We were actually looking at a bat ray when my buddy, Lance, saw the BSB out of the corner of his eye. Good spot Lance! Thanks!

Sunday, beach diving in Laguna with South Coast Divers. My 25th dive (woo-hoo!). Nobody else showed up to dive last Sunday (boo-hoo!), but Rich & Kathy stopped by our meeting place at the mall on their way to work on Rich's boat, and Rich loaned me "The Last Dive", a books on tape set. The story is totally captivating, and I've already listened to the entire 6 hours. It was a nice consolation prize for not being in the water. Not the happiest story in the world, but a pretty fascinating look into the psyche of extreme divers.

Hey Kevin, is that you? Being incognito? LOL If not, my apologies! See you with SOCDC!

I went to La Bocana, Baja, Mexico with Sea Ventures Dive Club. What a great time!!! Cold, but fun just the same. I posted my dive report about 'repeling' to the beach. Just call me G.I. Jan! LOL Ok, maybe not..... Viz was definitely better down there than here. Just the same, I am looking forward to getting back to some California Beach Diving!

It's great to be back in the water!!!
