well I guess not mayny people like the snorkel, guess we better find a new use for them. make shift blowgun?
Nah, what better use of a snorkle can there be than the beer bong picture posted earlier. That is by far, the best use for a snorkle I've ever seen :yelclap: :luxhello: :god:

I dunno you could make a pretty big spit wad for a snorkel, then with the use of compressed air.... :D

BlueDevil:
Personally I think a snorkel is one of the best pieces of survival eqipment around. If I was on a sinking boat and only had time to grab one thing before it sank I would grab my mask and snorkel. I can float/swim for hours with a snorkel.

Agreed, altought I don't carry one on all dives if I feel the dive has the potential to end in a self rescue involving a long surface swim such dives in strong currents I will carry one. I consider it a piece of survival equiptment in these situations.

I don't always carry my snorkel either. I was very glad to have it the time I had an o-ring leak and we had to surface only to find ourselves about a quarter mile away from the boat. We waited for them to come for us, but it made me feel secure.

Gregoire:
Im going diving today, and I will not wear a snorkel an I WILL put my mask on my forehead :D
Ok, where you going, so I can come rescue you.
Did you know that putting your mask on your forehead means you are distressed and need immediate rescue? It's true. So, if you are feeling distressed, DO NOT flail about and wave, DO NOT scream for help, DO NOT deploy your safety sausage, whistle or air horn, just put your mask on your forehead and wait for help to arrive.
Hope this makes you feel more comfortable on your dive.

Oh yeah... Sure... Rub it in. Turkey... ;) Have fun!

I just got off the phone with the LDS owner. The conversation went something like this:

Me: Hello, Gerry?
Him: Hi, Frank! How's it goin'?
Me: Pretty good... When are we going to get together and blow bubbles? Man, I'm DYIN'!
Him: (laughing...) What, you want to go the pool, or what?
Me: I don't care. Ocean, pool, mud-puddle... Whatever... Also, I'm willing to help out with any classes you're running.
Him: Great! Okay... Let's get together this week.

(hang up the phone and gritting my teeth, looking at the gray sky and 20mph winds and thinking, "Aw, it's not so bad... I could totally dive in this.") :D
