I'm just getting my first drysuit kit together and wanted advice as to sizing of drysuit gloves. The fourth element G1 liner fits me perfectly in medium. It is a tight fit wearing them and the blue Atlas type drygloves in medium. Should the drysuit glove fit pretty snugly over the liner, or should it be a bit roomy? I imagine a larger glove would give me more flexibility. Suggestions welcome.

You got the right sized gloves. They should fit tight, as in you have to pull them on. Your fingers shouldn't have any extra room around the tip. It is okay if the gloves don't go into the V of your fingers, as that is just a place to keep warm air. Once underwater you don't want any folds in the glove or it will cause poor dexterity. I find most people don't wear the right size gloves.

Do find a way to vent the glove to the suit that is removable should one flood.

So what kind of glove system are you going to use?

Thanks for the reply. I've got the Si-tech rings and the blue PVC gloves. With the liner on underneath, my fingers are pretty stiff from the compression hence the question. I'd rather not go up a size in the outer gloves because the fingers will be too long. Any idea as to how low a temp one can use the knit poly liner (yellow with my gloves) that comes with the glove?

Well you list NorCal as your home location, so how cold is the water getting? I dive down to 43 degrees with the yellow liners, and have been okay. Not to say my hands don't get cold, but they are no where freezing like they would be in a wet glove.

BTW you need new o-rings for your rings. If you want a couple let me know. I would assume you did NOT get the Antares system.

My glove is a Showa 495, very similar to the 660. Thanks for the size link. I'm looking to dive down to about 40 on some future trips. My coldest dives in the bay area have been into the mid 40's, wet.

Atlas gloves are inexpensive enough, order a few sizes and test drive them till you find what works best :). You may want to experiment with orange/blue. Dive one size on each hand :). Fitted is nice but tight will compress the insulation and block circulation. Loose can get in the way of other tasks.
