Just sharing the project resulting from being a cold intolerant fat head.
In already wonderfully warm 72° water with my friends borrowed cap I could add on average an extra 25 minutes comfortable dive time but it fit like a vise. A hood would be ridiculous overkill but the added bump protection and warmth of a cap was welcome.
Turned a 3mm neoprene laptop sleeve case into one using my hood as a visual pattern for a paper pattern. Hand sewn with artificial sinew. Chunk of velcro on the chin strap.
DIY lifestyle, but with very basic sewing skills so it's rough.
40 minutes project time (minus materials)
2$ cost (plus a few cents of thread)
Critique or patterns welcome.
Enjoy,
Cameron
P.s. it's snowing here already so I won't be testing until further south this winter.
