Question Should new BCD from LDS never seen water?

Im still not seeing the problem. It was put on a tank and taken for a test ride. Big deal. Youre just wasteing fuel. You next one will have the same wear in a few dives.

We test fins. What do you think happens to the 3 pairs of fins I didnt like, in the pool?

Or the 7mm Bare semi-dry suit that tried to strangle me? Sell it used because the tag is folded?

No doubt if I purchased new it would be in this same condition after I take a few dives. Agreed.

This post was for me to understand if this was like going to a car dealership, demoing a vehicle and it's still considered "new" even though there's some miles on it from previous test drives.

From what I'm hearing here, new means new, no dives or test rides, and if so it shouldn't be sold as "new". If I wanted used in like new I could get the same for $750, which I'd rather not, considering my entire life has been hand-me-downs.

I have no reason to think the dive shop wouldn't make the situation right when I see them tomorrow.

I wouldn't waste the gas returning it unless there was a defect that would effect performance. Oh, and I would have bought a backplate and wing instead.

I drive an EV and charging is free.

I guess it's only time, tires, milage depreciation, vs an opportunity cost of $400 or getting what I expected/wanted.

One last thing, how's Scubapro and their warranty support? Is it possible it would not be under warranty if it was previously placed in service?

No. I could return it and buy the "like new" one for $400 less...

But still prefer new. In warranty. No questions about any issues.

they may not give him $400 back, but they should give him a fresh from the bag, unused BCD. I'd be pretty irritated with the shop for this, especially when paying $1K + for something. Hopefully it was just an oversight...

send them the pics and negotiate a price -make sure you still have same warranty as a new one -if they wont budge cancel the charge up and buy elsewhere

IF and only IF, you want to continue a relationship with a business that has already given you ample evidence to demonstrate dishonesty. I would get a full refund and then buy a different BC for half that somewhere else.
