I am doing a photo mosaic of a shipwreck called the Marie J. Thompson for my research class out of FKCC. I was curious if anybody might have any input on how to set up some sort of track or any kind of rigging to secure the camera. Also how do i adjust for an overlap. also this is my first mosaic of any kind. any advice would be appreciated. It should be good viz as we are going in late May. the wreck lies in only in about 15 to 20 feet of water near Key West harbor.

this thread has some useful info and a great example from another member here: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/underwater-photography/309724-photo-mosaic-u-352-chris-oriley.html

I attempted this once, my black and white image of the Doc Poulson is further down in that thread. For mine, I shot about 8 to 10 overlapping images (overlapping by about 40%) and stitched them together with Canon's PhotoStitch utility. The camera I had at the time had a panorama "stitch-assist" mode that displays the previous image for you to help line things up. I made sure to move parallel to the wreck to minimize distortion and I waited for all the divers to swim behind the wreck.

hope this is helpful!
