I am slowly starting my assimilation (like many others I have noticed) towards DIR. For my reg setup I currently have a Mk25/S600 as my primary and a Sherwood Oasis as my secondary. I am planning on buying a Mk25/380 here shortly to replace the Sherwood and I am thinking of using the Sherwood for my deco bottle.

I was just wondering if I could get some thoughts from the more expierienced members of this board about this setup.

I realize the most obvious problem is that my deco and back gas regs would not be the same type but money's tight and I already own the Sherwood.

I just completed the classroom portion of my Advanced EANx and Deco procedures and will be starting the diving portion here shortly. Cant wait.

Thanks for any and all thoughts.

We all know that sherwoods are literally indestructible but they do have the dry bleed system wich can be a problem !

Reason is we usually pressurize the reg and turn the valve off in case of reg free flow or malfuntion etc, and if the sherwood bleeds down before you repressurize it it could lead to malfuntions or fouling, but I'm usually in the habit if I carry my bottles I turn them off and on to repressurize the lines this is good standard practice for deco diving!!

Other than that love the sherwoods owned 5 at one time sold them all off especially since alot of my diving is trimix based in the Great lakes and Scuba pro's are solid, consistent smooth breathing regs!

Good luck
