Superior has none, there are also a few dead zones in the various lakes with zero mussels. I have never heard a good explanation of why, but they do exist. There is one in Lake Erie north of Cleveland. There are no mussels on an entire schooner.Not the wrecks in Superior! Did you see the recent announcement of the discovery of the Atlanta? 650ft down in Superior. Sank in the 1890s. Her nameboard is still able to be read.
