Not the wrecks in Superior! Did you see the recent announcement of the discovery of the Atlanta? 650ft down in Superior. Sank in the 1890s. Her nameboard is still able to be read.

Superior has none, there are also a few dead zones in the various lakes with zero mussels. I have never heard a good explanation of why, but they do exist. There is one in Lake Erie north of Cleveland. There are no mussels on an entire schooner.

If anyone has not already read it, I highly recommend Alfred Lansing's Endurance, first published 1959. An amazing story

Wonderful! I have seen a video on Sky News and it is impressive how well preserved it is. Too bad it is so deep and in such an hostile territory. How long before Hollywood makes a movie out of it?
