Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I lubed the zipper before first use ;-). It’s the metal zip though, maybe that is why it’s a bit more involved. In any case, not a big deal as I usually do not dive alone.

I don't usually dive alone, either. I just have a "thing" about being self-sufficient. I hate asking for help if I don't need to.

Anyway, yeah, I have zipped metal zips for friends. Those things are a lot harder to close.

Maybe instead of a back zip with metal next time, you should consider a front zip with plastic...

I was just kidding. And, yes, I understood that you have a front zip now. I thought you said next time you would get a back zip. That is what I was referring to. And I have definitely learned that people who have a preference (for metal or plastic) have their preference, so I wasn't really trying to sway you. Like I said, just trying to joke around.

Hi guys,
just wondering about Seaskin Nova "comfort and customisation option".

I use mostly Weezle Extreme Plus, but have concerns about such increasing of suit's dimensions. As standard suit size is corresponding to 250gsm, it seems rather huge extra addings for 400gsm, for Weezle Extreme + especially.

So could anybody comment on empty room in standard Nova or if somebody ordered this option, how do you feel about it's necessity?

P.S. i feel comfortably being "squeezed", as prefer very little amount of gas inside my drysuit

When I ordered last year I asked this question:
I will be using the suit for cold water 39F and warmer water of Florida caves 68F for the cold water I wear Fourth Element Arctic undergarment along with light undershirt and heated vest. Tough question I know, but figure I should ask before ordering
This is the reply:
DO NOT go for Allowance for extra thick undersuits. It will make the suit too big for Florida cave diving.
So I did not order "Allowance for extra thick undersuits" With my undergarments for cold water the suit fits just fine.

A little thicker would probably be fine, but at some point become too snug. As far as the Halo goes, I have no experience with it.
Maybe drop seaskin with your question.

The option says right in the description that it is for thicker undergarments like the Weezle Extreme.

If that is what you use, I would trust Seaskin and order the suit with that option. The measurements they say they are adding don't sound very "huge" to me. For example, adding 4cm to the chest measure just isn't that much, I don't think. It's not 4cm more width. It's 4 cm more around.

Like I said, I would trust Seaskin. If they say "this option is for people with a Weezle Extreme" and I was using a Weezle Extreme, I would choose that option and trust them to get it right.

I have the Seaskin 250gr unders. If I had a 400gr undersuit, I think I would wish I had ordered that option. With my 250gr, it's snug. I would not really want it to be any more snug. I have the Seaskin 150gr shorty that is meant to wear over the 250gr. I have not tried that yet, but I fear it will be a little too snug for my taste.

If you don't choose that option, and the suit is too tight, what's your recourse?
