Large-scale effort to find missing scuba diver on Lake Michigan underway

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – Several agencies in southeast Wisconsin are working together to locate and recover a missing scuba diver in Lake Michigan.

According to a release, at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, the US Coast Guard received a report from a vessel on Lake Michigan that a scuba diver had yet to return to the surface and needed assistance.

A diver was reportedly exploring an old shipwreck about six miles off Pleasant Prairie’s coastline in water more than 100 feet deep.

Search and recovery efforts were underway at the time of this article’s publication. An update is expected in the future. No additional details were provided.

Pleasant Prairie is right next to Kenosha. I wonder if this is the SS L.R. Doty wreck site. If it is then the article is hiding that it's a 300 foot extremely deep dive. That's where the Husband & wife were lost together on a 2019 tech dive. { tagging @Marie13 }

The Doty is off Milwaukee and is about 300ft deep.

Here's an article from WGN TV here in Chicago. It mentions the Wisconsin, which is about 130ft to the bottom. Not sure if that's the wreck, but someone did their homework.
