Yupito, thanks for mentioning that. I've been paranoid about getting service down here.

I ordered an almost-new Atomic M1 and got the return approved for the Hollis. The transmitter issue coupled with not being able to use standard hoses on the second stage of the Hollis made me decide to switch. I also like Atomic's servicing recommendations better. Hopefully either UU or DD will service it in Miami area when needed, if not, I'm sure I can always send it back to scubatoys for servicing as I've seen a lot of folk do on this board.

Diver's Direct give problems? They sell Atomic but not on the list of dealers I see....

How about South Beach Divers there on washington ave? They are another atomic dealer...as well as Diver's Den in Kendall on 127th.

South Beach Divers is the closest to me followed by UU.

Divers Direct is good and friendly, but do not service in most of their stores. I thought that "DD" meant Diver's Den. I am not familiar with South Beach Divers.

...while I've heard of people putting their AI transmitter on a short 6" HP hose, I don't do that and I'm not sure it's a good idea as I wouldn't like to hear the sound of the transmitter thwacking the side of my tank! :) Plus, I'm seeing the transmitter getting hidden behind the diver/BC disrupting the transmitter signal.

Actually, both of your fears are unfounded. First, when using a 6" hose you tuck the transmitter between the reg and bcd wing. It does flop around and wack the side of your cylinder. Second, when tucked down in behind the reg and bcd wing it does disrupt the transmitter signal. It is actually a very nice way to keep the transmitter out of the way both under and above the water.

Went to Diver's Direct last night. Huge place with good service and internet prices. I also love how this location is open until 10pm almost every day. It's good that the bad "DD" is diver's den since that one is farther away and smaller hehe. I wish Tarpoon dive center was an atomic dealer since they are the closest and are nice people too.
