Didn't want to hijack a thread so here is a new one with two quick questions. These models are not show on SPs site and I can't seem to find info on them. Mahalo!
SP s550 vs s555 What is the difference?
AND R190-290-390?

The S555 is a minor model change over the S550 and the two are for all practical purposes identical. The S550 is discontinued adn that will allow SP dealers to sell it well below the MSRP so it can be a very good buy. The discontinued status is no big deal as SP is very good about supporting discontinued regulators for decades and the annual service parts are in any case identical to those used in the S555, G250HP and S600 so Sp is not going to run out of parts for it anytime soon.

The R190 is a large version of the R390. They are internally identical but the case and diaphragm are bigger on the R190. The R290 and R390 have been discontinued and have been replaced by the R295. That is unfortunate as they are functionally spekaing the same second stage except the new R295 does not offer the VIVA flow vane adjustment used on the R390. All of them share the same annual serve parts, use the same poppet assembly, and provide the same level fo performance.

Again the discontinued R290 and R390 can be very good deals as SP dealers are not held to the same MSRP minus 10% price discount limit that applies to current regs on the discontinued models.

I should just PM you with my questions. Many thanks.
One more for you, which SP reg would you recomend as a cold water AAS?

Who else would you go to when it comes to Scubapro? ;)

For cold water, you might want to look into MK17.

Already picked the Mk17,thanks. Just trying to decide which way to go for and alt and of course it's SP! LOL.... I have so much SP stuff now, no reason to change. Love my MK2s but it's time for a hotrod.
