Ok, So for an on-topic post,

What about the Aeris Velocity Duo split fins?

My diving is all reef diving. I have a pair of Mares Volos right now that I don't really like. Partly because they are too big. I've seen good reviews of the Duo's and I can get them for $80 instead of $130-$150 for the Atomics and ScubaPros.

Anyone have a thought on this?
Are they open heel? Open heel splits would be interesting at that price. But if they're full foot, that would explain the difference. For me, the only other split fins that looked interesting (if I chose something other than the scuba pro twin jets and the apollo bio-fins) are the Tusa's (which look damn near identical to the bio fins) and the Atomics. I know I saw the full foot Atomics split fins for $89. I think I recall tests at ScubaLabs put them pretty close to the bio fins.

Reviews of that fin (scroll down on each):

Looks like a decent fin, taken on it's own. But it doesn't look like it's quite as good as the others that were tested. I'm in heavy water currents frequently enough (not as many warm water easy reef dives as I'd like!) that raw speed and power are really important for me, but this fin might work for your needs. Your call, in the end...
