ScubaPro regulators questions D300 and a 109, not so vintage

The lever on the D300 Is a different size and is installed from the opposite side as the D400. Other than that, all parts are the same or fully compatible.

Hi Miya. After I had several Scubapro sets serviced at a distant LDS since my local doesn't handle SP I decided to learn how to do it myself. So after reading a ton of info on SB and a couple of books I can link if interested I bought several used sets to practice. The first was a 109 I converted to a balanced 156 with parts from VDH. Easy peesy. Then several Mk 10's. Even easier.

If you like DIY and want to try the 109 yourself search the DIY and regulator forums and you will find tons of useful info and there are several "usual suspects" that are often willing to help a newly minted dyi'er.

As to the D300, I understand its a bit tougher to service yourself and I have found it harder to get parts. I have a D400 but haven't tackled it yet so no help there.

I am waiting on the 109 kit from VDH to arrive. I am very much a DIY'r. The 109 looks fairly straightforward. What books did you find? I have found very little on Diving equipment. I have most of the docs from VDH website, there is a lot to read. How do you test them after servicing them? Swapping parts is one thing, but making sure things are right is another.

I started with the water precedure then went with the inline adjustment tool from VDH and finally ended with the inline tool from Scubatools.

Someone on Amazon has that book listed for 1,336.37 new. wow
I think I will go for the Harlow book since it is recommended for the DIYer. just not at 1336$
Amazon has it used for 50 with 2nd day shipping. is it still spiral bound?

Not sure about Amazon. All the ones I see offered are listed as used. I bought direct from Air Speed Press through the link I gave.
