How does the SP G500 compare to the SP S550. Have had my SP mk20 and S550 for over a decade and though they work fine, I feel the need to change soon, out of boredom. Happy to hear your candid views. Deep 6 also piqued my interest.

SP G500 older (1997) balanced user adaptable, with the 'older' balance knob system.
SP S550 older (2001) balanced not user adjustable

Both share parts with the S600 and can be upgraded. I have upgraded a G500 to the new balance system and new s600 face, done similar with and S550.
