So you have your student's heads above surface and their bodies underwater when you have them do skills like these? (copy from NAUI standards).

And in water no deeper than their knees too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scubapro Hydros Pro Sizing.

I am between M and L.
I'm either 184 or 186 cm in height (depends on monthly moon phase)

But I weigh size M.

Even in M with a 3mm suit, there is plenty of chest, shoulder, and waist slack.

I guess it comes down to the individual's weight (belly and chest fat) and routine wetsuit thickness.

5' 9" reasonably athletic build, wide shoulders, 32-34" waist depending whether the yo-yo is up or down!! Weight will be between 175 and 190 too. M fits fine, with a rash and a brand new 3mm full + new 1.5 vest.

@signal18,

Have you ever thought of just going with a BP/W so you don't have to deal with these issues and have a configuration that is adaptable to different exposure protection?

A lot cheaper too. A lot cheaper.

I know a lot of people will groan at this suggestion, but it certainly needs to be said.

I retired my BP/W, in fact, Sold it, Horror, Sacrilege the sky will fall, pulling of hair ad nauseam ,and dive my Hydros Pro now for boat dives around here and further North, easy for me going between a 3mm, 5mm and rash suit, not often, shorts and T, and dealing with the SS plate [heavy] or the Al plate change, and being an old F@r. [senior flatulence] I like the ease and feel of the Hydros Pro . And I still have a Scubapro jacket [or just a plastic backpack] as well I use for the odd jobs I do like hull cleans and searches for lost gear, easy on/off and I don't worry about the muck.
Duck for cover, the flak is coming.
Anyone want to buy rolls of webbing and bits and pieces for their wing I have in the shed? Just kidding I will give it all away.
Works for me.

LOL, I knew it wouldn't take long for someone to be triggered.

If the OP has issue with their size of trying to figure out what size to buy, and that it could be the wrong size with a change in wetsuit thickness (or no wetsuit, or going up to a dry suit), maybe it isn't the right thing for them? While the harness of a BP/W is easily adjustable, maybe another product may be in order? It doesn't look like this is the right product for the OP. Yes, I get there are die hard SP Hydro users in this thread. Doesn't change the fact that this may not be the right product for the OP.

I would not say I am a die hard Hydros Pro user, I did look at the Aqualung Outlaw at $300 cheaper and others and dismissed them as not being up to the required standard [for me,only my opinion].
But will admit I am a Scubapro 'tragic', have been since I bought my first SP regulator all those many years ago [still have, service and dive it], their gear just last the test of time.
Edit: Spelling [as usual].
