My Scubapro tech said this about my G500:
Bad balance chamber - manufacture no longer supports model - parts obsolete

So should I just throw it away?

Thanks

I not 100% sure but I think an s600 barrel and adjuster can be put in the case.

it may be more likely that the tech doesn’t have the proper tool for adjusting this pneumatic balance system rather than an issue with the balance chamber.

S600 parts fit into the g500. If the tech doesn't know that you should look for another guy. Don't throw the g500 out.

All the above is true. If you want it as-is, I'll service it for you. I have the special tool. Yes, tuning is a bit of a PITA, but no big deal. If the balance chamber is indeed "bad", as in scratched or cracked, he might be right. After taking it apart, I can check on parts availability. If it's "bad" as in leaking, he may not understand that this model isn't sealed unless the knob insert is in, in which case you can't tune it without the $50 tool.

If you want to upgrade, I can source parts.

These parts were returned to me. Some of them might be from another regulator.
