Is anyone thinking that Roatan in June is hot enough to get away with a rash guard and jammers or is everyone bringing wetsuits? Yeah, I know, better protection with a suit, but asking temperature wise. I have enough bioprene to not run on the cold side.

My wife and I were there in late April/early May 2 years ago and after the first dive in a skin, I dove in swim trunks and a rash guard the rest of the time. Water temps were low 80s at that time. I'll bring my skin this time but probably won't use it.

ETA: Except on the night dives. I wore my skin on night dives...just in case of things unseen.

If you're one to stay on the warmer side, you'll probably be fine. I'll be wearing a 1 mil or skin.
Don't forget to check out all info, water temps, and more in the Packing and Travel Thread.

Hi All - Since I live and work here on Roatan as the Photo Pro at Turquoise Bay Dive & Beach Resort, I dive 2-4 days a week, and 2-3 dives each day. The water temp is now at 83-84 degrees, with no thermoclines and little to no currents. I post a weather report that includes air temp, wind direction and strength, humidity, and water temp every day of the week on both Facebook (Robert Herb) and Instagram (Bob Herb (@bobh_h2o) • Instagram photos and videos). I live mid-Island at Parrot Tree Plantation on the southside.
