I had my top of the line scuba mask with all the fancy one hand adjustment for the strap, there was always a slow leak which I put up with since I just blow it out of the purge valve in my nose. Sometimes it would be a slow trickle, other times it would flow, and it was a hit or miss depending on how tight I pulled the strap. My wife got this dirt cheap snorkel kit with fins/ low vol mask/snorkel/bag just for the heck of it, I thought why get it when we don't need any of them when she already has spares. Once my mask was being a PITA and decided to try the snorkel mask for the heck of it. It was absolutely watertight in all directions. I soon retired my fancy mask and her backup to her backup mask was no more.
