Getting better.. moved to a paralyzer tip lionfish spear, and to bigger fish yesterday off a private boat.. Yesterday's haul. Left 2 on the reef, one too small to bring home.. and the other slipped out of our hands as it was going in the lobster bag. It will die soon enough with 3 holes and no spines for protection.

Mmmm Lionfish. Biggest one about 12"

My personal record is 15.5" long in about 90'off Hillsboro Inlet.
How big has everyone else shot them so far?
The deeper ya' goes, the biggerer they be.

Chug
Kilt 34 last weekend, and it sucks.

Dang 34 last weekend?? Awesome, yet so sad that there are so many. The one that got away..yeah, yeah, I know, likely story... was a bit bigger than the biggest one in that pic.. maybe 13.5 or so.. slipped outa our hands on the transfer from cutting the spines to the bag... it won't stay alive for long with no venomous fins and 3 holes in it...
