Has anybody in the US ever ordered from Scuba Gaskets before?

I made an order a few days ago, they shipped it via DHL Express yesterday and gave me a tracking number.

I just received two identical texts from DHL reading: "Import duty payment required for delivery..... Returned in 5 days if not paid".

It doesn't look like a scam, cause it's on the original text string and with the same tracking number as what I received yesterday when it was shipped. Do I really need to pay the import tax a week after I placed the order??? Does anyone have first hand experience with this?

TYIA!

Without getting into a political rant, yes. I had to pay duty fees on my last two ScubaGasket shipments.

The US removed the de minims exemption that previously allowed for duty free imports under $800. Curious what the total duty you're getting hit with ends up being as I need some Apeks kits.

You've got to be kidding me.

Do you know what happens if I don't pay and it gets returned? Are they going to refund me if that happens?

I wasn't happy with the 31 euro shipping cost to begin with, and now I'm asked to pay $19.69 import tax on 32 euro worth of products?

I had at least a couple of international shipments very recently, none of them included this nonsense.

$19.69 on 32 euro order (not including the shipping cost). It did include some Apeks items, coincidentally.

Unfortunately yes the shipment will get returned. Unclear if ScubaGaskets will refund you but I am guessing no as it's not their fault.

Shipping products to the US is a literal disaster / dumpster fire right now

Just got a reply from Scuba Gaskets that they won't refund.

They also said that they've "announced it in social media and newsletters" for those select few that subscribed. Announcing it on the actual website where the order is made was too much effort, I guess.
