So, I'm going to Denver CO to visit a boy this summer. HE wants to take me skydiving. I'd love to, but I think it might be a bad idea because I'm afraid of roller coasters bigger than Splash Mountain. However, it might get me over my fear! I want to try it, but I want to hear from people who have done it!

I asked my Dad and he said that "Only 2 things fall out of the sky: BirdS*** and Fools."

Anyone done it?

It was THE SINGLE BIGGEST RUSH I've ever had. I tandem jumped (which I'm sure you would do), and then eventually worked up through static jumps to free-fall - also GREAT! BUt I'll tell ya - looking out and then jumping was a little spooky the first time. Try it, you'll be freaked out and psyched up at the same time.:D

Explain? I hope tandem means glued to the instructor! How often have you done it? Where have you done it? Any scary experiences? The boy said it was better than s*x.

Skydiving just flat out rocks!!! I am in my third year of jumping and can honestly say it is still a huge rush!!!

So if you go check out the DZ he wants to take you to. http://www.dropzone.com will have information on most DZ's. As well as a slew of jumpers that can tell you about the DZ you are going to.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Look in to Tandem and AFF jumps they both run about the same price one is just more time intensive than the other.

Also they just built a new wind tunnel in CO and it might be worth checking out too...

Good luck and have a blast!!!!!

Edited to add: Skydiving has nothing in common with rollercoasters... Without going in to the physics of forward throw and what not you dont get that gut wrenching feeling of a sudden drop etc...

If your question to the board is, "Do i go scuba or sky diving?", the answer is SCUBA! Jump from an altitude of 3 feet without a chute and free fall for about an hour! :)

Don't get me wrong...I live and breath scuba diving but skydiving is one of the most exhilarating things I have ever done. I did the tandem jump too, twice.

You will have a blast!

Tandem means that you have an instructor harnessed to your back. You get to be very good friends for the moments that you're sharing the same space. I've done it in California and in Alaska where an instructor was radioing to me during a static jump and the wind changed direction. They are on the ground with binoculars telling you to turn this way, then that, to make sure you're paying attention. When the wind changed I landed in a moose meadow in about 3' of water and I couldn't stop laughing it was such a rush. He was all apologetic but it was the softest landing ever. (1 tandem jump, 5 static jumps and 13 free falls. My back problems won't let me do that anymore so 19 is where I stopped. The opening is a jolt to the back though, NOT the landings.) Have a great time!

And NOTHING is better than good s*x so forget about that.:D

Jumping out of Airplanes or Helicopters or Balloons or whatever is a 100% pure adrenaline rush. DO IT!

I am still trying to work the Parachute Jump into water thing. :D
