Where did you enter the water? I need to find a spot that is not a mud bank. After the water turns what is the vis like?

Uh, the lake is a mud bank right now:shakehead:. Well, if you enter to the right near the stack of rocks at the water's edge (trash can 1/2 way down the parking lot) it is a bit easier, though you have to go over the top of the aquatic weeds before descending (but hey, there are fish here). Heading out to the right and down to 20 -23' puts you on the top of the 40' ledge. If ending a dive plan to be towards to N. end of the parking lot for the safety stop, ascend as the aquatic weeds decrease and the exit will not be too bad.

Reviewing my records regarding the past two years after the lake "turns". Last year, the turnover began about 9/23/07 or there abouts. Towards the end of Oct. (20th) we had 20' between 60-100' (nice, very nice). Of course not many folks were diving cause it was Fall and folks only do local diving in the Summer (yeah water temps were 60 -74 depending on depth) :shakehead:. We seem to be on this profile (+/-) this year, maybe a week or so late. In 06 the lake did not start turning over until mid Oct and it didn't clear until the first week of Nov. Yep, that's why it is good to keep a logbook with stats with details.

By the way- Neptune was doing an OW class at the lake when you were diving yesterday. That is why the vis on the plane was low.
