IST once "earned" a warning label from Rodale's.

This test they earned one of the highest marks.

Why? Who makes their regs.? It's a big turn-around.

In 2001, IST's R600 and R700 received "Consumer Alerts". This year the R10 and R20 received great reviews. Appartently they've changed something, but I can't get to the reviews to see the write-up.

FLL Diver,
The Envoy doesn't have an adjustable second stage or the heat exchanger. The first stage doesn't have the evironmental seal. Other internal parts are the same. The design is the same. The difference in the Zeagle data seams (if I read it correctly) slight. I don't think it explains the Rodale results. Zeagle states their test conditions. I don't know if Rodale did or not.

I will call the reg guy at Zeagle and ask if he can explain the correlation of (lack of) with Rodales results.

Is anyone here going to replace their current reg with one that received a better score? I recently bought a new Zeagle 50D and with my very limited experience with it so far can only say it is far superior to what is available with rental gear. This model didn't score as well as some but so far appears to be all I'll ever need. Why not add another category: How cool your regulator looks. This will provide some people one more useless method by which to feel good about their $800 reg. This whole subject is less about performance than bragging rights anyway.

Wait, isn't that the difference between the TX100 and the ATX200?? Oh, and don't forget that this fall silver is now cooler than black ;)

On a serious note -- would love a pointer the the thread out there that has some meaningful differenced between the top half of the Apeks line. I understand the 20,40,50 differences, but is there any real, in-water perceived difference between the 50, 100, and 200, save for "better hose routing" on the 100/200 1st stages?

Scuba446,
thanks. just looking the charts over and for the APEKS AT20, the total is 18 but summing up cols a..d give me 17. looks like a typo.
just an FYI. Is there someone we can notife at RSD?

GP,
Well, I JUST got MY issue in the mail today - so I wasn't aware that they were out yet.

Rick Murchison,
Well my Aqua Lung's have performed well, both the Titan XLC and Titan LX, for the money...

Huh? The Oceanic Alpha 7and Gamma 2 regulators are reviewed, but NOT the Delta 3? Whas' up with this?

As I expected, the Gamma 2 (my wife owns one) scored very well - a 19. And that's a *great* score for a regulator that cost me $190 from LP.

But the Delta 3?? Why is it missing? It's Oceanic's bread-and-butter high performance regulator. And Rodale's has loved this regulator for the past umpteen years (tester's choice forever).

I'm a little puzzled to say the least. I would at least like to see how my regulator fared against the others.

Oh well...

Thx...Doug
