We are heading to Roatan June 18-27. We will be taking our two college kids with us. They are divers also. Didn't know if anyone with children that age was headed that way at the same time.

Where are you going to be staying on Roatan?

The island and it's various guest houses and AI resorts are surprisingly far flung.

My wife and I are trying to plan a trip to Roatan. We are finding that airline prices are extremely expensive compared to anywhere else in the Caribbean. We found roundtrip tickets for two out of Tampa and Miami to be almost $2000. The place we were looking into staying was only $500 for the week. We thought that was fantastic until we saw the flights. Are we missing something about a cheaper way to get there?

I am not sure what airlines you are looking at...but yeah the prices are high...I bought my airfare for June to Roatan a few weeks ago and paid 617.00 from Texas....but the cheapest I found from tampa was 768.00pp taxes included....for June....not sure when you are looking to go. it is a little cheaper in late July....I checked Continental....good luck.....you may want to set up a tracker Yapta.com to track your flights they will notify you when they go down...good luck

I booked about 3 weeks ago and paid $500.00 round trip from Denver. (continental). Leave in two weeks.

From Chicago through Houston on CON I was able to get $635pp for the times I wanted, although this was back in January. Things dropped for a bit and are now back up to $700 for the same route. Delta is a smidge cheaper.

If you're willing to do 3-4 stops in other countries on the way down TACA can be had for around $300. I wasn't willing.

We are flying out of Miami into SAP then taking ferry over to Roatan. Couldn't beat the deal on American .... We paid $1400 for all 4 of us.
I have been checking their flights and they are staying consistent with that price. Where in Ga. are you?

Its pretty hot in June.

well we live in Georgia so we are used to the heat... plan on spending most of the time under the water...
