We did the roatan aggressor in 2020, it was our official COVID scuba trip... Trip was deeply discounted at 1999 because nobody was traveling but we also had to fork out $250 a piece for COVID tests at the time... We also then got stranded in roatan during hurricane Eta
Trip notes:
1. food was good, chef was milton, assistant janelle (was hilarious)
2. We did not get to dive utila - they said bc of covid, they did not have permission (sounded like a BS excuse bc we paid 1999 pp)
3. Captain Eddy I believe has moved onto the BA4
4. Several of the crew members were a little too touchy feely with women on the boat, but that won't be a problem for you traveling solo
5. Willie - the new captain and scuba instructor - not in the greatest of shape... and bc he felt the currents were too strong, pulled us away from the sea mounts - which was supposed to be the highlight of the trip. At least to me anyways.
6. Cara a Cara - this will be the only dive you'll see a shark - and this is bc they take a bucket of chum down.
This is the only time I will do that dive, I think it's awful because many of the sharks are swimming around with fishing leaders in their mouths from being fished after the tourists leave
Overall the diving in roatan is awesome...
Be sure to have one of the dive masters find a pair of sailfin blennies where they can put them close to each other and you can watch them spar.
here is one of my 3 min Cara a Cara videos - you'll see a few with fishing leaders in their mouths
