El Moro has always been one of my favorites and a must visit for me. We were there 2 weeks ago and it was disappointing. I’m hoping it was just an off day for them. I had the same thing I usually get and the taste just wasn’t there. And Ray seemed very sad. We were the only table the entire time we were eating on a Monday night. I know it’s slow season though.

Again, I’m hoping this was just an off night for them.

We were there twice in late June - early July. Ray knows us from years and years past, and Mamacita and the old man came out and hugged my 95 year old mom. We had Mom's 90th birthday party there and they still have a picture on the wall from it.

The food was the same as it ever was, which was very good, but the experience was outstanding.

The best fish on the island. Still there
Great seafood, but go early as they close early as well. I'd guess they close about 6 or 7.

Let this Grizzled Old Cozumel veteran tell you about breakfast in Coz. I don't get there every month now but I cannot go home to Texas without JUEVOS MIGAS at LA Choza, which is my all time favorite restaurant in COZUMEL. Yes I have been to all the others mentioned, and we do now have a great selection compared to the food baren desert we had in the 90s, but La Choza remains the must go place for those in the know and locals. Also for dinner the Puerco in Tomate is the best.
La Choza is probably our favorite restaurant anywhere. We've occasionally eaten 3 meals a day there and end up having breakfast there 2 or 3 times a week.

I agree about the migas at breakfast, though my wife gets huevos alla Choza and our brat (now nearly 30 and living on the island) likes the enfrijoladas. However good the puerco entomatado is (and it's excellent), I think the chamorro de credo on Wednesdays is their best daily special.

La Choza has never let us down.

I love their fideo soup and their fish in mustard sauce. I'm drooling on my keyboard.

I had the fish in mustard sauce last time I was there, based on your previous writeups Gordon. It was delicious. What's in the fideo soup?

Noodles, chicken broth, tomato, and garlic.

It wasn’t available on our last visit to La Choza but on a previous visit they had the best vegetable soup I have ever had. So many layers of taste just in the broth itself.

I had previously mentioned the food court located next door to Santander Bank of. 10th. Have had excellent food from any of the vendors there. I especially liked the Jarochas place from the Mexican (Barrio) restaurant. Attached are the menus from the various vendors.
