I was just wondering, for those of you that are Rescue Diver certified, if it's worth it or not. I was thinking the cash would be better spent on another specialty or towards a drysuit.

It’s my favorite class. It will make you better a better dive buddy for sure. I highly recommend it.

yes it s worth it. You touch self reliant diving and will become more aware of certains situation. Over all you will become a more prepared dive to face certain challenge while diving with other.
 
If I was certing divers:
Cert: Open Water; Class : Open Water
Cert: Competent Diver; Classes: OW, AOW, Nitrox, Rescue

Helps build in-water confidence knowing how to deal with emergencies.

I never show the card -- on the boat I dive as an AOW diver, not as a rescue diver; I don't want the boat operators or fellow divers to think I'm somehow to be relied on more than their buddy or in-water dive master.
