I am interested in hearing anyone's experiences with the Atomic B2 regulator diving in cooler water. I will be doing a fair bit of diving in Ireland but not likely in the winter. Water temps are from 9 to 15 degrees C and i will be not likely be in the bottom of the range (but who knows). I have had 2 friends who's opinions and expertise i value highly recommend the Atomic B2 regulator but they both live in tropical locals and have no experience with this gear in conditions anywhere near my own. I am a bit concerned with the performance of the Atomic equipment in local waters, the UK magazines have been grudging complimentary of the Atomic gear but have mentioned some cold water problems and concerns (leaking silicone). Given these concerns I have been considering the Hollis 212 DC1 or the similar Oceanic EOS. I do plan to also get the complementary octos to each system (z2 for the atomic or the 321 for the 212 or the EOS)

Any personal experiences would be very helpful in my decision making process. I have almost bought each system more than once and am sure i am over thinking it at this point. I guess i just need a nudge in one direction or the other as i am sure i will be happy either way.

Get the environmental seal kit and there should be no problem. Irish water is pretty darn cold. I understand that the warmest is about 50F? 50F is no problem for Atomic but for any regulator that is expected to work in the 40sF range or lower, I'd definitely make sure that it comes with an environmental seal kit installed.
