My husband and I are travelling to Belizé in July. We want to dive Glovers Reef, The Crack, Middle Caye, Faegons Point, & Turtles Rest. We are considering staying at the Reef's End Lodge on Tobacco Caye. Has anyone stayed there? Any comments?

No experience needed and it feels great!

hey, my wife and I stayed on tabacco caye several times.. once with the whole family (12 of us)... hurricane mitch really did a number on the very shallow reefs (we were there before and after) but otherwise things faired pretty good. We stayed at Ocean's Edge, right next door to Reef's End. Last we were there was about 7 or more years ago so don't have much of an update for you.. I remember that while we were there Reef's End was without hot water about the whole time and I do remember that Ocean's Edge was the nicest of the places on the island.. a bit more expensive.. if you can call $75/ night for 2 including all meals expensive!!?? What a great little island to escape too.. if you're into that sort of thing you might want to take a look Ranguana Reef Resort in the Silk Cayes, we had to bring our own groceries there.. very remote.. no dive shop.. but it was beautiful! That's farther south off of Placencia. That was the other drawback to the out islands.. is that they are out and you'll pay good for the shuttles to/from the main land. You'll have to do more homework though as things may have really changed since our trips there.

Hi T,

I moved your thread to the General South America forum from the Introductions and Greets forum to see if we could get you more helpful information and comments.

Sounds like a great place to go!
