I stay underwater for hours with my 6 cf tank - it holds the argon that keeps my dry suit warm and toasty...Ha Ha Ha...No seriously - read and listen the other posts in this reply. Once you're certified, it will all make much more sense. Good luck and enjoy the adventures diving can provide. Cheers!

how long can i stay under with a 6cf tank? I know probably not very long but thought about buying a tank this size as a starter...What size tank would i need to stay.....Lets say 20 min underwater?

Get certified and you'll realize why noone can answer your question. You've told us nothing of SAC, Depth, Exertion, Water Temp, etc.


But to help you out, should you decide to buy this 6cf tank anyway, I have a 19 CF tank that will only MAYBE give me enough gas to get back to the surface in a bailout situation.

How long does it take to get certified? My dad is a police officer and know like everyone on the dive team..So i think i might be ablt to learn to dive then, but i'm not sure the guy could certify me or not..My dad said he could...Okay, i've pivked up more and more..
