Hi all -
I saw some steel tanks with manufacturer markings I couldn't identify at the time and passed on buying them - it was a diamond with a C inside it. After some poking around online, I think they are Coyne tanks (Dolphin Scuba used to distribute or market them) and from the dimensions and markings, it looks like an LP80. I don't remember all the numbers but it had an initial hydro date of 1994 with a + rating and also had GALV stamped on it. Most recent hydro was in 2004 with no +.
Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm specifically looking for comparisons to the PST LP80s since I might end up with a usable one of those soonish and would like to have two tanks with similar buoyancy and trim characteristics. Maybe even double them up in the future (not even sure if doing this with dissimilar tanks is wise or not). The tanks specs for them are below and are very similar.
PST, 2400+10%, 80.6cu.ft, 7.25in diameter, 24in length, 34lb empty (buoyancy -1lb empty, -7lb full)
Coyne, 2400+10%, 78.1cu.ft, 7.25in diameter, 24in length, 32lb empty (buoyancy -2lb empty, -8lb full)
Thanks in advance,
