ScottB:
but Loch Low-Minn Quarry in Athens Tennessee closes in general on November 1st.. but is open for reservations year round.. so an instructor may be willing to reserve it for your open water cert.. it may be a little chilly though ;)

My best friend lives across the road from the quarry. If you have been there he lives in the house at the top of the hill.

Update for everyone. Thanks for your advice and it looks like i took most of it and came up with option #4.

I will be getting certified from a LDS in Chattanooga (Leisure Time Dive and Ski). Today I started a relationship with a LDS, and what I hope will turn into a great relationship.
Option #4-
  • Cancell Princess booking- keep books (cost $28) and DVDs.
  • Sign up for Local weekend class starts 11/10
  • Last dives at the local Quarry in Athens 11/18- 11/19.
  • Buy great equipment from LDS after he allows me to try and fit in pool during classes and possibly afterwards. Seems his major concern is my comfort and fit and personal preference, instead of just selling me some package or equipment.
  • Dive as a certified diver on my cruise and as many times possible after that.
It really was fratuitious (spelling ?) that I walked into this dive shop today. I thought I had called all the dive shops in the Chattanooga and Knoxville area, but I guess I was wrong. I was just looking for some ideas about equipment, but ended up with much more.

St. Thomas, Bonaire, and Aruba here I COME!!

Again,
Thanks for all your advice and I hope to see you on or under the waves!
