Homestead crater and the like are options, but my mindset on training is that I will not be diving those places with nice clear warm water (homestead, bluehole, seabase) but once or twice a year, and diving local holes frequently. I would prefer to train in the 60-65deg water with 10' vis and a 7mm suit with an instructor and get that experience now. That is a big reason why I have been trying to juggle this around. I did realize there are more licensing agencies than PADI ( I heard the resounding thunk as my head popped out) and have spoken with an SSI shop in Ft. Collins that can set me up with everything I need at the one shop. They have the option for homestead, but definitely agreed with me on my mentality of training for the conditions where I will be diving the most. I just want to thank everyone again for all the posts looking to help out a FNG, and the main reason I joined this board is all that I have heard about the good advice and conversations you can experience here. Look forward to talking with everybody more. I keep updated with my training experiences!
