So back in June the local BSAC club Doha Sub Aqua Club took a jolly to one of the clubs favorite off shore dive sites the Pericles. An upside down cargo carrier that caught fire back in the 80s and sank. Vis was not the best but there was plenty of live, loads to see and we even managed to drift dive the keel of the ship for 200 odd meters which was a giggle.
Pericles has always been one of the better dive sites in Qatari waters and a must visit for anyone who likes a good wreck dive, nothing like a deco stop on the top of her rudder. Proper details on the ship and wreck can be found on the DSAC website

Last week few mates of mine decided to dive what is locally called Zeitoune Reef, which is a natural shore reef. One of very few in the shores of Qatar. It does often have a lot of life and has some coral re-growing. It is defiantly a club favorite

Zeitoune is "Olive" in Arabic. Did you find any olives there? :P

Been trying to find this dice site for some time now and finally found it. plenty of life on the reef with yellow banded sweetlips which are not normal for Qatar.

Nice vis.

We have similar concrete blocks with holes in that we call the Blocks off Fujairah, vis is usually bad 2-3m, but they do host a plethora of nudibranchs.

Have you seen any nudis on your location?

Yeah vis was half decent for once on the day, didnt see any Nudis on that day, was the first time diving the site so could have easily missed them. Generally only get Nudis in Qatar in the winter months, but we did see a tiny one at another site last week which was a surprise
