Hello! I just moved to Burlington from Qatar (deployed). I hear there's some wreck diving in the lake here.

Anyone have info on this? I'd love to get involved with a local club or something.

The lake itself has a lot of historical wrecks from the 19th century. Most are smaller canal boats. A lot of people don't realize that Lake Champlain is connected the Hudson River at the southern end of lake by the Champlain canal system which was built at the same time as the more-famous Erie Canal.

Be warned, the visibility is not always great in the lake. It averages 10-15ft on the deeper wrecks but some of the shallower wrecks can have better visibility with a bit more ambient light. You'll likely want a drysuit but some people are comfortable in full 7mm in the later summer months on the shallower wrecks.

Waterfront Diving runs scheduled dive charters to the maritime preserve. They would would be a good group to connect with. There are private boats too.
