Yikes! I'll make sure to pack light when flying Qatar!
It’s not just Qatar. Flew from the UK to Jakarta with Singapore Airlines and it was 800 GBP for 24kg at check in (2007). 2/3 the price of the return ticket. The one that really took the biscuit was Manila to Heathrow with Emirates, 1600 USD for 20kg (2013). These were all work trips that they booked, so no cost to me but still frustrating.

As has been said. The total cost of travel needs to be worked out in advance.

If you are a member of Qatar's mileage club, there is a chat function where you can talk to a real person. I have always found them to be super helpful.

And pay more 450 euros from Jakarta to Lisbon

TOTAL : 1200 euros ( it was more expensive than the trip)

Chosing another operator would not solve the problem of check in excess luggage at the airport.
I always check the cost of the luggage before buying any ticket if I have a bag to check in. As I do not want any last minute surprise at he airport.
Pre-paid is the only way to minimize the excessive charges at the airport.
The connection flight is the issue with that particular airline.

I haven't been doing this for two days.
I travel to Indonesia every year.
I knew the price of baggage with online payment and I asked that question before choosing the ticket.
The problem was after I bought the ticket.
There was no option because it included a flight from another airline. The only solution I had was to pay at check-in.
I even took the emails I had exchanged to the check-in.

Even at check-in, the amount was ridiculous.
I consider this to be theft.
