Hi all,
Dove with a new buddy last week and he put on his DUI dry suit (no gloves) and then put on the gloves and made the zip seal connection. I then questioned him about the integraty (SP?) of the seal and he stated "never had a problem". Anyone else doing this? I ask because I have a set of the gloves, but never used them because I can't get the neck seal right with the gloves on and I can not perform the "neck first then the arms" as shown on the DUI web site!

Thanks
Phil

You mean he has zipgloves and he dons the suit without the gloves attached first, and then zips the zipgloves on every dive?? That is pretty nifty if he can do it. I think I would be pretty frustrated by second glove.

If he can perform it, I don't think the integrity is a problem because it is fairly easy to "hear" by fingers when they click on. You just need to go around to feel they have sealed. Might be bit hard to feel it with thicker liners though.

The problem for me would be the maneuver itself. And I would worry a bit that the (expensive) gloves wear a little quicker from extra abuse around the area were you have to rough them in kind of awkwardly one-handedly.

P.S. If you want to get rid of your zipgloves cheap, drop me a line :D

What works for me, is to put one arm in, then my head, and that leaves me a free hand to adjust my neck seal. Then I am able to "chicken wing" my other arm into the suit.Everybody I have shared this with has been able to pull it off after a little practice. Hope that helps.
