I currently dive with a Delta II DX4, I'm looking to buy a Delta III DX4 or CDX. Does anyone know of a good online store that is reputable to buy from and provides all the necessary paperwork for warranties? Thanks.

Try www.leisurepro.com or www.diveinn.com They aren't authorized dealers of most companies so you won't be able to get your manufacturers warranty, however both leisurepro and diveinn will give you their own warranty that pretty much matches the manufacturers. Also, the money that you'll save by buying online rather than your LDS will more than pay for incidental repairs. I saved over $200 by buying my reg from diveinn.

Thanks Go Sharks.

Dive Inn looked pretty good for Scuba Pro regs, which is the only other brand I like besides Oceanic. However, I am going to find out about a manufacturers warranty which is a must. Until then I'm still looking for other sites.

I bought my Apeks regulator online from leisurepro. When I received it, it was not tuned properly and was very hard to breathe. One local dive shop was very pissy and wanted to charge $50 for service. Another was much nicer and only wanted to charge $15 and the last was really nice and offered to do it for free. We have about 10 local dive shops, so keep in mind that some dive shops respond to online competition with anger rather than superior service. I also bought about $100 of stuff that I wasn't intending to buy at the shop that gave me the free service.

i got my apeks and cobra from diveinn and purchased them separately. my lds hooked up my cobra to the first stage without too much grumbling. i did offer to pay for labor however prior to asking them to do it and he ended up feeling better about it. i think i paid about 25 bucks. no big deal considering what i saved at diveinn. at least offer to pay them for their time.

FLdiver,
I have not and will not buy life support equipment online for these reasons:
1. Warranty problems can be an issue. (pay me now or pay me later)

2. The LDS may not service that brand.

3. (my most important) My LDS has earned my patronage in the service they provide, thier reasonable prices, and the friendly attention they give me every time I walk in the door. I recently bought a Sherwood Maximus and recieved a call from the shop to tell me there was a recall in effect and that I needed to bring it in to be checked. I wonder if I would have found out about this potentially dangerous issue with my reg if I had bought it online. 15 minutes in the shop and I was all set. The extra money I may spend in this shop is worth it to me. I could go on about such things as loyalty, friendship, and supporting the LDS to ensure they will be there in the future, but I think you get the picture.

My opinion may not be yours, but "hey", we all must decide for ourselves. If you find what you want and are satisfied, good for you.

You will not get Scubapro online with a factory warranty. They do not allow their gear to be sold online and are very hard-nosed about it. No authorized dealer will sell it online. Not sure about Oceanic but may be same deal

If you want Scubapro (I notice you're in Ft. Lauderdale), give a call to Brownie's Southport Divers, talk to Dave and tell him I sent ya. He'll give you as good a deal as you'll find and a full factory warranty.

Try diversdiscount.com - located in CA, they will match all prices (even Leisure Pro) and are authorized for everything they sell (check the manufacturers site to verify this). I ordered a pair of TUSA Expert Zoom fins, having them do a price match with LeisurePro for $115, with no sales tax. By the way, my local shop, which I support well, wanted $190 and would only give 10% off.

Good Luck

Thanks wreckwriter about Brownies, I went diving with them once a while ago off of 17th st, I'll check them out.

Jetwrench, I agree with you about local dive shops, however I've lost the trust of a couple LDS. In the meantime that's why I was looking online until I find a good shop again nearby.

FWIW, www.simplyscuba.com in the UK carries Scubapro and Apeks regs. They're definitely an Apeks dealer, and they may be a SP dealer as well.

SP seems to regard the list of their UK dealers as a secret, so I haven't been able to find out from their website. If they are, you could possibly purchase SP there and obtain a European warranty.

I've used SP for several years, quite happily, but when it came time to get a 2nd reg for my doubles kit, I went with Apeks. SP's obnoxious pricing policies alienated me, and Apeks' reputation in the tech community made the decision easy.

Why pay tons more for equivalent performance?
