We dove with Daniel one day (Majahuitas and Los Arcos) and Nacho (Marietas) a few days later from VallartaUndersea in late March. They were very helpful and professional, yet super fun and entertaining. We picked them because they were conveniently located in the marina near our hotel, but I would totally dive with them again and recommend them. Diver to dive master ratio is good. We each got the right amount of personal attention for our experience level. We also enjoyed seeing and learning about the blue-footed booby and other bird species as well as evidence of pirate artillery testing (Marietas) during the boat ride out. We saw several rays, fish, snakes and eels, one puffer fish and an octopus. No dolphins while diving, but did see a large school of dolphins come in to the bay and play with the kayakers right off the beach of our hotel one morning which was very cool. No whales - too late.

My guess is that the conditions in the bay will be similar to now .

Colder thermocline and better viz under 40 or 50 ft with a temp of 62 to 64 F. Green water in the shallows with a temp around 75 to 78 F,

Water will start changing sometime in June.

Hi all divers.

For all of you coming to visit Puerto Vallarta in the future, please check our dive report to see what you can expect. Feel free to ask any questions about diving Puerto Vallarta and surroundings. Hope to see you when you come!

Alex from PVScuba

Hello Alex,

I'll be down on the 20th of this month. Can you tell me what sites your 3-day dive pack visits? I will be diving Sun., Mon., Tues & possibly Wed.

Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,

Our standard 3-day dive pack includes dives at Los Arcos, Majahuitas, and Marietas. When we have enough advance divers we can also go to El Morro or Chimo.

For a faster response, please email me at avega@pvscuba.com

regards

Alex from PVScuba

Water conditions have greatly improved in the last few days. We´re now at the turning point from winter to summer conditions (yes, I know it´s spring, but underwater we only have winter and summer :D )

Low temps now are at about 70F / 21C (up from 60F not too long ago) with viz in the 30-40 ft range. In the next couple of weeks the temp should be shooting up at least another 10 degrees.

Come dive PV!

Alex from PVScuba

Here are some images including species names that have been posted by Clinton in the BAUE Website

Bahia de Banderas

Yes, the water was much warmer but still cool under the thermocline.

A few topside and wide angle images in the following post.

Very nice,

It has already started raining in Guadalajara and the mountains these past few days. Summer is here !!

The so much needed rainy season has reached Banderas bay now, marking the official start of summer diving in Puerto Vallarta .

Dry suits are now in storage reserved for isla Guadalupe, San Benitos and the caves in Q. Roo. and 0.5 mm suits are out of the closet for this weekend at Los Arcos and the south portion of the bay.

Happy diving !
