A diver has tragically passed away at the Tiñosa pier in Puerto del Carmen this afternoon (Tuesday) following Cardiorespiratory arrest, according to information provided by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

They received an alert at 12:10pm informing them that a boat had arrived at the dock carrying a man who had been diving and suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest under the water.

The Lanzarote emergency services quickly arrived at the location given, and paramedics performed advanced CPR manoeuvres. Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful, and the diver was pronounced dead.

Police cooperated with other emergency resources and carried out the necessary legal proceedings so that the man’s body could be taken for official identification and an autopsy to confirm the cause of his death.
