I have the opportunity to purchase this tank with a fresh hydro and vis for $165 locally. is this a fair price? what considerations should be made. this is my first steel tank and wanted a 100cf but this opportunity arose. Help!!

If it's a E series (3442 PSI) with the convertible DIN/Yoke valve then I'd day go for it.

If it's the earlier small neck 3500 PSI, DIN only it's still a good choice though you will be limited to diving DIN regulators.

In 2005 when we got ours the E-80 was commonly selling for $205. Since then the price has shifted much closer to the 100 CF price making $165 sound pretty good. Less is always better of course.

I have 4 E7-80 cylinders and really like them. If you are especially tall you may not care for how they trim, at 5'-9" they suit me fine.

yeah its the E series. i think im gonna pick it up. thanks

I just bumped into a Leisure Pro add as a reference. The current Worthington equivalent is going for $294 with free freight. Odds are you need to get a local shop to do a VIP before doing the initial fill so in the end $165 is just about 1/2 price. Having the fresh hydro & VIP makes what you have a nice option.

Oh, yeah !!!

The price is good. But I would not find an HP80 to be a reasonable substitute for my HP100. But if it meets your needs, snap it up.
