I tend to fixate on things, it's possible I'm being a "chicken little" but to be honest I think the only way I'm going to stop thinking about this is to replace. Now to come up with the $250.

I grew up in pirogues, which we built from native cypress, on the bayous of Louisiana, and I am pretty sure we were real. Alligator wrestling and catching bass are kind of not a big deal. I guess you have no humor, no worries.

The "delicious" bass comes from the movie Napoleon Dynamite:

This Trident stuff is what I use to mark hoses etc.:

Yeah, I remember a rented jon boat and paddle and you were home by lunch either because you had a limit or the fish were not bitting. Now it is a $35K, 250 HP boat that will do 80MPH. You pay big bucks to enter and any fish go back in the water after weigh-in. Really sucked the fun out of it; but did make a few bucks.

I replaced the crack braided with a rubber of the same length that I have lying around. I have two more to go, 26" LP and a 24" HP. Both I have spare at the moment, but my double set is on loan. I just warn the borrower to check and double check. Once I get it back, all will go back to rubber

I'm putting rubber hoses on my kit and leaving the braided flex hoses on the wives kit...:D

Jim...

I'll be happy to take some of the discarded braided hoses. PM me with the shipping cost.

English is not my strong point, As a matter of fact. I down right suck at it.. I'm just happy you guys got the JOKE...

Jim..

After following this discussion I removed the miflex hose and replaced the factory rubber one on an Aqualung single hose reg then did a 60 minute dive yesterday. It was the first time I had used a rubber primary hose in a long time and I would have to say I was pleasantly surprised that it was comfortable and flexible enough, not as flexible as the miflex- but not an issue!
If they are proven safe I will go back to the miflex but meantime the factory hose works just fine.
