At one point they even had our contact phone number and return address on it… I could see how that would confuse someone (we sure found it a little odd).

Yet, they are completely separate:popcorn:

Perhaps LP and PS could tell us about their status as "Authorized Dealers" for the equipment they sell? There is been a lot of scuttlebutt about whether equipment should be purchased from LP (in particular) since they have been reported to sell equipment that they aren't authorized to sell as a dealer by the manufacturer. Staightening this out would be helpful. What's PS's status?

Or have they already adressed this in other threads?

What brand of regs does PS sell that has banned internet sales? Or that they aren't an authorized dealer for? Have you even checked? :search:

Based on that info and the similarity to the old LP site, my guess is that LP's website was possibly "borrowed", and maybe the "borrower" didn't realize they were also "borrowing" certain LP data such as contact info, etc. from the original website. If that's the case, its up to LP to protect whatever copyrights they may hold.

At least they don't resort to "OMG you are going to die" style scare tactics, like the DRIS site did. BTW, way to get that cleaned up Mike.

hold.

LOL...come on...I didnt write that review, I posted something that was already out...sent to me by a manufacturer...and it wasnt quite like you put it.........:rofl3:....but I was glad you showed me that point...I didnt see it as such when I copied it ;)

Great memory!! $20 in store credit for that one!!

Nope, haven't checked. Figured they would know and just tell me. It's a question, not an accusation.

Hi All,
Boy is this turning interesting, even I'm enjoying it. As Brett confirmed, we are not part of LP. BTW thanks Brett, and yes, imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery.
We are fully authorized dealers for all the products we carry, and we do not participate in any gray market sales. We also carry Atomic which does not allow it's retailers to sell online - in store sales only. As a matter of fact, they are rarely if ever on our site. Many people coming into the store are suprised to see it.
Speaking of which, if anyone wants to stop in to see us for themselves, please do. As I always say, the coffee is always on.
If there is any other way I can help, let me know.
Take Care,
George

I'll confirm this one too, Prime Scuba has no affiliation whatsoever with LeisurePro. Although Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery the site being almost identical to ours can be very confusing. At one point they even had our contact phone number and return address on it… I could see how that would confuse someone (we sure found it a little odd).

View source, cut and paste from notepad. Gotta love it.

Copying a database driven web site requires a little more than cut and paste. You guys should both have a conversation with your web developers. Its not uncommon for developers to use similar back ends or off the shelf products which look very similar when implemented "out of the box." If that part about the the return address is true I would definately be talking with them.
