That is not going to work, it will crack. IMO.
Because of the barrel diff or the knob stopping pin?
(I’m also worried about the same — just trynna understand why)

it’s not anything against the HP (I’m not sacrificing a 250 for another), just an aesthetic experiment (clear/white on chrome, black HP knob on black g250)

But it there’s any risk of cracking Ill just revert it — not worth it

The barrel retention pin appears to be applying a point stress load to the barrel housing. If so, the acrylic will eventually crack, sooner than later.

I have a couple of G250s, but not all of them are for sale.........
I've been looking around since posting and was lucky enough to find a Crystal in good shape on ebay. Now I'm looking for one more to match for my doubles set. Any chance you would part with one????????

Does anyone know why SP (or another manufacturer) hasn't done a larger run of clear 2nd stages? There seems to be a demand for them, I assume beyond the rareness and collectability of the original crystal 250s.

Were crystals actually acrylic or are they polycarbonate or some other plastic?

I think Acrylic (guessed based on the different thickness of „walls“ vs normal g250)

Oceanic had clear Omegas (I have one that I can get you a pic of when I get home, it’s a handset looking reg — like the Jetstreams)

Scubapro no longer manufactures the G250. Halycon sells the G250 under their label.

As to another manufacturer, the draw to the Crystal G250 is that it is a Scubapro G250. The G250 is among the best ever produced even today and is a desirable collectable and a desirable diving regulator.

As to the material, I have handled a crystal on a few occasions, my guess was acrylic just based on the appearaance. The collectors would no more than me on that. I am not a collector.

The crystals turn yellow in use if exposed to UV. A crystal diver would want a clear silicone mask that will also turn yellow so as to be matching :).

I guess a crystal G260 could be possible. There are UV inhibitors for both acrylic (Plexiglass) and polycarbonate (Lexan). Okay, I will add that to my Scubapro wish list, a titanium barrel polycarbonate crystal G260CT with a titanium Mark 11ET.

Don’t forget the mk2ET

Try finding a titanium mk11, crazy demand and if they made one again, especially EVO it would be a top seller or maybe not because the price would be insane.
