I know it's a long shot, but I've been out of diving for a while and trying to get back in with some new - old gear. I wanted to put together a set of doubles and was looking for some rare G250's. Either older but looking new, or the hots, or ideally, crystals. Anyone have a lead on where I could find something worth purchasing? I see a few on Ebay, but figured this would be a good place to look as well. Thanks in advance.

I think I have one for sale. Search in the classifieds.

I have a couple of G250s, but not all of them are for sale.........

Good luck on the hots or the crystal. Also, as that model is decades old, "like new" will be "challenging",

The acrylic crystals will yellow over time. A mint crystal is museum worthy. The G250 is not rare, there are bazillions around, the prices are going up. And the original pre HP G250s are IMO the best. Simple, tough, fiber reinforced cases (as they all are including the G260) and top notch performance. The two I am using today came out of a LDS trash can. And they are beuts :) !

Hotdamn these are pruddy!
I ran into a peculiar g250 crystal yesterday, an HP
I was starting to consider possibility of conversion to classical barrel, them I noticed a funny fillet knob side; my other crystal (classic knob) doesn’t have it

any chance the one you got in the back is also an HP?

No, Mono, it's not.

All my Clear Airs have the classic metal barrel.

I don't see how you could convert that one in a classic configuration, missing the holes for the clamp......

I gave it a try, snagged a classic barrel from a normal 250 and replaced it

It’s a tight fit I gotta say — the fillet barely allows the clamp to go in

Now I’m not so sure about HP to classic conversions and if they are actually possible on normal black cases, but I’m not super comfortable with it given the different polymer that’s prone to cracking

I might revert it later to HP if I run into trouble
