Chicago Scuba Meetup (CSM), a dive club in Chicago, is having its monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 7pm at Lalo's Restaurant (basement) in Lincoln Park. Duane Johnson, our very own ppo2_diver here on Scubaboard, will be giving a presentation on managing your gas supply. Duane's presentations are always informative.

We usually meet on Monday, but this event is shifted a couple of days to accommodate Duane. More information on CSM is here: The Chicago Scuba Meetup Group (Chicago, IL) - Meetup.com
More information on this event: February Scuba Meetup-Special Guest-Duane Johnson NOTE DIFFERENT DAY - The Chicago Scuba Meetup Group (Chicago, IL) - Meetup.com and http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/gr...0071-gas-management-presentation-chicago.html

We hope to see many new faces!

More info on the presentation:

Duane Johnson is an independent PADI recreational and TDI technical instructor who's blog on his website, Precision Diving - The Great Lakes and Chicago Premier SCUBA Dive Training, is a wealth of information on many aspects of diving. Duane has given a number of presentations to CSM over the years and they have been some of our best attended and most informative of the year.

In this presentation, we'll discuss the importance of adding a gas management strategy into a dive plan, calculating consumption rates, and how to calculate the amount of breathing gas to leave in case of an emergency. This is an important subject for all divers, and is critical in maximizing your fun and safety underwater.

Also during this meeting we will be promoting participants to join "Team CSM" for the Underwater Competition in March.
