Ah, reminds me of the "good old days..." the November 1965 power outage on the East Coast. I was studying for one of my first mid-terms at Harvard when the lights went out. Walked out into Harvard Square and down the entrance to the subway (yes, "get Charlie off the MTA") where backup generators allowed me to continue studying in the dimmer light. Not sure but I think the mid-term was postponed when I arrived at class the next morning. And, no... I wasn't one of those who took advantage of the dark to sneak a women into my dorm room and contribute to the surge in childbirths 9 months later!

Now if I just had my SO and a nice Merlot and a few candles I would be set.

I think they are getting the power back on slowly but with the surges of people trying to get their air conditioning on and watch tv to see what is going on, I think we may see it go down again. We are on generators here and they have cut out @3 times from being over taxed.

I'm headin' for Cobaltbabe's house for the party! :tease:
I have a freezer chalk full of steak and pork. If it last very long, I can feed a whole army. All I need is corn on the cob and a tub full of the cold stuff and we got a party going.
BTW, the first post sure looked like a question to me... not sure how you can extrapolate that to an exageration. In fact, it was a good question at that! I'm just glad I live in po-dunk Florida, where the power is still on!

It's even worst than I first thought. Leisure Pro's servers are without power right now. I can't get through.

OK, who's missing?

Hey all- 11PM and no power here yet (and no AC :( ) Thankfully, I had no meetings in the city today, but did get caught in the mad rush out with no traffic lights working!

Not sure how much juice my laptop has left, so goodnight all.

Think of how the birth rate will sky rocket in another 9-10 months.

No more kids for me, thanks.

I work on Wall Street.
We've had a new evacuation plan since you know when.
It's called get the f%$@ off the island and figure it out later.

I caught the 5 o'clock ferry. The one I take everyday, so I know where to go, have a ticket. Passed up a couple of thousand sheep by then, wondering what to do, where to go. I have my Jeep on the other side.

I dragged my boss with me, his normal bus got stuck in the tunnel. He was very happy. I'm sure it will be reflected in my review.

Anyway he just called, no work today.

I was also pleased to see that almost everybody I work with has a bailout bag; food, water, flashlights, walking shoes, etc.
(No Merlot, although I have a bottle of Jack in my office)
