jbm once bubbled...
It's 35 degrees Celcius/40% relative humidity.....and the air conditioner in my house just calved.......

................but I don't suspect that there is anything sinister in play.......

We are on back up generators and only have a few lights on. At least the air is still working.

..and the lights didn't even flicker. We haven't been affected at all.
..so "everything" in Jep's post was NOT total bull***t....

Feds say it is NOT terrorism.

Sheesh Lighten up folks!...go open up your windows and have plenty of liquids like Bloomberg says...I reccomend beer!

Zagnut once bubbled...
.....I reccomend beer!

Better drink it before it gets hot. I bet alot of folks are going to need to get an entire refrigerator of food after this is over with.
Thank goodness I wasn't traveling to the east coast on business.

Sorry about your folks' bad luck. New York traffic is bad without a power outage let alone with one.

I have a freezer chalk full of steak and pork. If it last very long, I can feed a whole army. All I need is corn on the cob and a tub full of the cold stuff and we got a party going. :D

I dont believe Boston has been affected...

All is well in Metrowest, and I heard on the radio that there was no power outages in Boston...

FYI....

If you have not seen Manahattan on the news yet, turn it on. It's AMAZING how many people are streaming out of the city.

My office went kaflooey at 4:30, and I lost about 4 hours' worth of work. By the time I finished most of the hissy fit that ensued as a result, I heard that it was all of NY and a huge chunk of the northeast. I drove home to find, miraculously, the power in my house on. No hiccups, either, cause none of my clocks were flashing.

The scale of this blackout just blows my mind!

I am in Ontario, Canada and we are still in the dark. My kids are home all alone and I can't get intouch with them even though I have tried several times. I'm sure the neighbors will look after them but the mommy thing kicks in big time.
